Anthropology of Landscape in European Protected Areas

The International Institute for the Study of Culture and Education at ULS in partnership with seven other European universities from Lithuania, Spain, Portugal, Island, Norway, France, Belgium was participating in the second edition of the international training project funded through the Comenius program of the EU entitled, Anthropology of Landscape in European Protected Areas.

The general aim of the project was the exploration of the interaction between humans and nature in protected natural and urban areas. This year edition entitled “Relation between Natural Areas and Cities” was focused on the integration of the protected areas in urban landscape and on the process of city transformation.
The project work consisted in completing individual and networking tasks, participation in the interactive communication with the help of ICT tools and conducting separate anthropological research work on specific areas in each participant country.

The ULS project team: Iryna Labatiuk (Cultural Anthropology in Education, Ukraine), Aleksander Jastrzebski (Sport Journalism, Poland) and Cecilia Laslo (Cultural Anthropology in Education, Romania) were working under the guidance of dr. Hana Cervinkova.

The results of the research were presented on the 10 days conference in Valecia, Spain.

Duration of the project: November 2011 – May 2012.
