Panel discussion on the "Performative Democracy"

December 2, 2008

Organized around the problems raised in the book by Elżbieta Matynia, entitled "Performative Democracy".
Five panelists took part in the discussion: prof. Elżbieta Matynia, Adam Michnik, prof. Krzysztof Pomian, Józef Pinior and prof. Zbigniew Kwieciński, who also acted as the moderator. The debate was an excellent occasion for addressing this issue because of the publication of the Polish translation of the Matynia's book.

Between 1990 and 1996, she was the Director of the East and Central Europe Program and since 1996 the director of the Transregional Center for Democratic Studies at the New School for Social Research in New York.
